We love sweatpants.

Both of us have numerous pairs of cherished sweatpants in our wardrobes. In fact, we write most of our blog entries in sweatpants.

But here’s the catch: we both write in private.

Don’t get us wrong: way back when, you could have caught us wearing sweatpants as our outfit of choice to run errands, meet friends for coffee, or take the kids to the playground. And we’re not talking about a pair of tight, sexy work out pants. We mean baggy, stretched out, not exactly pristine sweats.

Until we realized that sweatpants give off one clear, public sign: “I have given up.”

That’s why we’re suggesting — no, make that pleading — that you leave your sweatpants at home. (No, we are not suggesting that you leave the house in your panties!)

We are adamant about the fact that a “grown-up life” – that means a sex life that needs recharging — begins with never wearing sweat pants in public.

Here’s why: it is unlikely you will attract the kind of guy who will make you sweat (or pant) in the way you desire. (Men, the same goes for you when it comes to the ladies!)

No, of course, you don’t have to wear stilettos every time you step out the door. We’re talking about real life with kids, not the red carpet.

But you deserve one pair of great-fitting jeans. (Thanks Mindy from Single Mom Says for putting this so well!)

Jeans are the most versatile piece in your wardrobe. Even if you splurge, the cost per wearing is much lower than more trendy pieces.

They don’t even have to be new jeans. We know that everyone is feeling the economic pinch right now. We’ve all got pairs that just don’t fit right. How about hosting a clothing swap? Likely, everyone has got a “mistake” that’s just perfect for someone else. Fun, right?

Even if you just buy one new thing, no matter what your shape or size, there are jeans to make you look hot.

Our message is: love yourself enough to wear a pair of jeans that make your butt look enticing.

Remember when you took your child to four different department stores to find something dressy that he/she would wear almost cooperatively because it didn’t itch? You deserve the same time and attention.

After all, you do have an itch and need to have what it takes to get it scratched. We bet you know what we’re talking about.

Let’s hear from you! Are you guilty of WSPP? (wearing sweat pants publicly?)

Which item in your wardrobe “jump starts” your sex life?
