Rachel says…
When I became a single mom, Dr. Leah’s book was the first one I picked up. I kept it by my bed and often just reading a paragraph or two offered me the comfort — and good common sense advice — I needed.
Obviously, I was not alone. The Complete Single Mother is the best selling self-help book ever written for single parents.
Dr. Leah contacted me after Single Mom Seeking was published and told me how much she had enjoyed my memoir about looking for some good lovin’ as a single mom — and finding much more.
With Dr. Leah, I felt like I’d found a soul sister who understood first hand what it’s like to balance parenting and dating — single-mom style.
Unfortunately, it seemed unlikely that our friendship would progress beyond the occasional e-mail: Dr. Leah lives in New York — and I live in California. Happily, fate intervened.
Both of us were invited to speak at the first ever Single Mothers By Choice Expo, held at U.C. Berkeley.
Dr. Leah and I hit it off right away. We scrapped our individual presentations on the spot and did an impromptu talk on sex and dating. There was a long line of single moms eager to talk with us and we were just as eager to hear what was on their mind.
We heard the feedback loud and clear: Dr. Leah and Rachel Sarah are a great team.
After that, of course, we talked often.
Dr. Leah and I discovered that we both felt strongly about this: single mom sites concentrate too heavily on “mommy only,” often ignoring the fact that single moms can still enjoy adult perks.
Who doesn’t want a fulfilling sex life… without compromising your responsibilities?
That’s what SingleMommyHood.com is all about.
